Live, Love, and Life: Blessings & Joy

People may forget what you say, but they will never forget how you made them feel.

One of the greatest joys in my life comes from serving others. Through the Front Door Social & Charity Club, we host an annual Valentine’s Dinner and Party for the wonderful residents of Independence Village here in Texas City.

Each year, we come together to serve a delicious meal, share sweet Valentine treats, and most importantly, create meaningful moments. But once the meal ends—that’s when the real magic begins.

Laughter fills the room. Music brings people to their feet. Smiles spread from table to table. The joy is genuine, contagious, and deeply moving.

These moments remind me why I do what I do.

Like many, I face personal health challenges that could easily slow me down. But instead, they fuel my purpose. Every morning, I wake up grateful for the opportunity to serve, to connect, and to make a difference—no matter how big or small.

Because in the end, it’s not about titles or positions. It’s about people. It’s about compassion. It’s about showing up and making someone’s day a little brighter.

That is the kind of community I believe in.

And that is the kind of leadership I will always strive to bring.
